Cream Cheese Frosting

This frosting gets rave reviews no matter what it's on, so it has become my trusty standby!

(makes enough to frost a 2-layer cake, 9"x13" cake, or 48 cupcakes)
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 c butter, softened
2 t vanilla extract
2 T milk, if needed
6 c powdered sugar

Beat cream cheese, butter, and vanilla until fluffy. Add powdered sugar 2 c at a time until mixture reaches spreading consistency. Add milk if frosting is too thick. Add more powdered sugar if frosting is too thin.
